Add or change your profile picture.

This is the image that shows your face on any profile (agent, flatmate, or tenant) or if you are the author of an Article.

  1. Put the image you want into a folder on your computer (Downloads for example).
  2. Login to your account and click on the camera icon on the image frame. This will open an upload box.
  3. Click on “Upload Avatar”, select your image, and insert. Use the guide to reposition and resize as required.

Passwords

To change your password, login using the person icon on the main menu:

You’ll be taken to “My Property Pages”. Select ‘Change Password’ from the list:

  1. Passwords must be between 8-15 characters in length.
  2. Passwords should be unique, and not contain easily found data such as your birthday or name.
  3. Passwords must not be shared in accordance with our Terms of Service.

Add a location or address to your profile or listing

This is for any trade, service, agent, local business owner, or article contributor who is completing or editing their own listing:

  • Type in the street address of your listing. A dropdown list of suggestions may appear. If it does, select the correct address from the boxes behind the dropdown to autofill the address field. If you have typed your street address, the correct address will be at the top of the dropdown list. This will result in the position coordinates filling in correctly in the spaces below.

  • You may not want your street address to be shown. In this case, move the map pin to the area you want to be found in, then enter “City-wide” or something similar into the street address field. The zoom you set on the map here will be shown on your listing.
  • Ensure the Latitude and Longitude (geographic position) auto-fills.

Address not working?

  1. Ensure that the Latitude and Longitude (position coordinates) has auto-filled.
  2. If there is no position, or the address doesn’t appear, save your work and go back and edit, or refresh the page and start again. 

Getting Started — Contributing an Article

Anyone can contribute an article. Articles can be “Industry” or a “Local Knowledge” and are called “Contributors Posts” within Property Pages. Articles are moderated before publication and must comply with our Publication Guide. To contribute an article:

  1. Click on the person icon on the main menu and select “Create an Account” at the bottom of the Login form. Choose your name and password and supply your email address.
  2. You’ll be taken to your “My Property Pages”.

On the “Enter Listing Details” page, enter your information as needed. If you are submitting a Local Knowledge article the Company Name and Website are optional. The article text can be dragged, or copied then pasted, into the field. Editing tools are available within the text area.

Important! Once you submit your article it will be under review. It cannot be viewed until it is approved and will return a “Page not found” message if you select “Preview”.

Claiming Your Listing

If the team at Property Pages has made a listing or profile for you, you need to claim it. This allows you to edit the listing, add locations, and prevent others from changing your details. This is how:

Select your industry from the homepage and search for your listing where it is listed.  Click the “Claim Listing” button on your details page (see image). This will direct you to a payment page (for paid listings only) and will publish your listing immediately.

Edit Your Listing

There are two ways to edit your listing:

  1. Find your listing. Select “Edit” or “Add Location” as required. Only you can see these buttons. Follow the guidance in the “Business Listing Setup Guide” for help with any edits you wish to make.

        2. Log in to your account and select “My Listings” at the top of the page and click the 3 dots (to the right of the review stars) as shown below. If you wish to make edits, you can get help in the “Business Listing Setup Guide”.

Add Extra Locations to your listing

Extra locations can be set once a main listing has been created. Select “Yes” if you wish to increase your listing exposure in the same area of a different area. Listings have a 6 km radius, making a 12 km diameter circle.

This will open the “Lock Fields for Extra Locations” field as described below.

If you plan on having more than one location, you can “lock fields” here. Locking a field automatically transfers the information within it to your extra location without you needing to duplicate it. Normally, you would want to lock all fields except your location. This means that your extra location’s listing would look identical to your main listing except it would show in the new location.

Locking “Comments” will allow a review given in the main location to show in all locations and vice versa.

Enter the information in the fields. Note:

The best Tag Lines are short. Stick to 20 words or less for best results.

Your website (if you have one) needs to start with “https://…” followed by your website name.

The Header Image is shown prominently on all your listing formats and is the large image at the top of your details page. It’s important that it’s big enough. For best results, it needs to be at least 800px wide. There are several ways to check the size and image quality before you upload it, but the easiest way is to try one, and if it doesn’t look good, replace it. We take care of the smaller sized versions of your image for you.

There are three text sections (description paragraphs) where you can describe your company or services. You can think of these sections as the “Introduction”, “Details”, and “Summary” sections. Your Image Gallery displays between the “Details” and “Summary”. This is done so you have flexibility over how your listing looks.

You can decide to have text in any or all of the paragraphs. If you leave any section blank, the content from lower sections will move up to fill the space. For example, you may wish to leave out Paragraph 2. This will result in your listing showing Paragraph 1 and 3, with your images moving up to take the place of Paragraph 2.

You can put in as much text in each section as you wish, but visitors won’t want to read too much. Keep it short for best results. Text within each paragraph section is shown as one paragraph and won’t show line breaks if you have them.

You can have up to 10 photos in a gallery. For best results, images should be at least 300 px wide, but as for the header image, simply try some and replace them if they don’t look good. We will optimise the images for the best web performance.

Areas of Expertise are “tags” that can be used by people to find you based on what you do. Use broad terms that describe the types of work you do.

“Category” lets you choose if you want to show your address on a map or hide it. Whatever you choose, you can move the location of your listing (and where you’ll be found by clients) anywhere you want.

“Default Category” follows whatever you choose in “Category”.

Add Your Location

Type in the street address of your office if you have one. A dropdown list of suggestions may appear. If it does, select the correct address from the boxes behind the dropdown to autofill the address field. If you don’t want to show your location on a map, drag the map marker to where your customers are, then enter “City-wide” or similar in the Address field. Whatever zoom you set on the map here will be the same on your listing.

You can enter 4 client testimonials.  For best results, keep them short and of similar length. It’s acceptable to leave out parts of a testimonial to achieve this.

Please note, these are NOT ratings.

Adding an Advisor Image

  1. This is a photo of you. For best results, the image should be approximately square, have plenty of space around your head and shoulders,  and be between 50 KB and 1 MB in size. It is fine to take a screenshot of an existing image.
  2. Drag your image from your computer desktop into the “Add advisor image” box.
  3. See how it looks by using the “Submit Listing” button at the bottom of the listing form.

Uploading Images

 
Header Images for Business Listings and Articles: Photos need to be a minimum of 800 pixels on the longest side in order to show correctly. We take care of the smaller versions.

 

Advertiser Header Image: Photos need to be a minimum of 1600 pixels on the longest side in order to show correctly. The higher the quality of photo, the better the experience of those who see it. Images that have file sizes that are too large will be rejected.

What are pixels and how do I find them?

A ‘pixel’ is the smallest unit of information that makes up a picture – every photograph in digital form is made up of pixels. The more pixels you have, the more closely the photo resembles the original thing you have taken a photo of, and the clearer the zoom quality will be.

If you use screenshots to copy images, you may see numbers appear next to your cursor. These show the number of pixels you’re capturing and will show in the file info (see next section).

How can I check if my current photos are the right size?

Use right-click on your computer to check your file. The dimensions are the numbers of pixels horizontally and vertically. To find them:

  • On a Mac, select “get info”.
  • On Windows, select “Properties”, click on the “Details” tab and scroll down.

Alternatively, simply upload your image (s) and check in the live preview. Uploading a better image will replace the existing headshot, logo, or header image.

What are the specifications for photos?
  • Photo file format: .gif, .bmp, .jpeg or .jpg format. If you’re using screenshots of photos, you can easily change the default screenshot format to .jpg or .jpeg. A Google search will show you how to do it for your computer type.
  • Photo file size limit: under 1MB. If it’s too big, it’s probably the wrong format. Use .jpg or .jpeg for best results.
  • Photo quality: For Article Header Images, at least 800 pixels or more on the longest side. For Advertiser Header Images, at least 1600 pixels on the longest side.

Claim Your Agent Profile Listing

If the team at Property Pages has made a profile for you, you need to claim it. This allows you to edit the listing, add locations, and enables others to post reviews. This is how:

Address section: You can choose a single or multiple catchment zones while displaying your office address. For a detailed explanation about setting locations and your address, please see here.

Describing yourself: This is an opportunity for potential clients to get to know you beyond what they might learn from your agency website. People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it. You’re selling your expertise, your local knowledge, your drive and enthusiasm, and your willingness to deliver the best possible outcome for your clients. They will be curious about how your personal and professional background got you to this point.

There is no limit to how much you can say here but remember that people won’t read it if it’s too long. Separate text into paragraphs and use the advanced editor tools (VISUAL tab) to add styling and links to other pages or accounts. You can also create LISTS like this one that shows editing features:

  • BOLD
  • ITALICS
  • UNDERLINED
  • STRIKETHROUGH
  • LINK TO ANY WEBPAGE OR SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNT

Advertise for a Flatmate

Flatmate or Tenant Profile Setup

Note: You don’t have to set up a Profile to apply for flats or rental properties but it allows you to add all your information, including documents and photos, with a single click to any listing you want. Here’s how:

Industry Articles — Enter Details

Fill out your details on the Add Listing form. You can drag or copy-paste your logo. A big logo is good, it will be automatically sized when it’s uploaded. However, take a look and try another if it’s not good.

Enter the date and category of the article.

Copy and paste the content into the text area. Ensure the “Visual/Text” buttons are selected to “Visual” and use the editing tools as required.

Please enter the URL of the page that links to Property Pages using “https://websitename.co.nz/page.

“Submit Listing” when you are finished. Articles will not be available until they are approved by Property Pages and will return a “Page not available” if you preview it.

Local Knowledge Articles — Enter Details

Enter the name of the area you are describing under “Title”.

The Header Image is the image that’s shown on all instances of your article including the large one at the top of the post. For best results, it needs to be at least 800 px wide. 

Copy and paste the content into the text area. Ensure the “Visual/Text” buttons are selected to “Visual” and use the editing tools as required.

“Category” is the region of the country. Please choose the appropriate one.

“Submit Listing” when you are finished. Articles will not be available until they are approved by Property Pages and will return a “Page not available” if you preview it.
